Hydra Stop - Model HSF 250 Line -Stop Fittings
Hydra-Stop’s line stopping keeps the neighborhood pressurized while allowing you to isolate the water pipe or main requiring repair or maintenance. The line is stopped temporarily and the work undertaken, without disrupting pressure upstream of the stop. This is a cost-effective method of performing maintenance and repairs without incurring the risks and inconvenience associated with system shutdown.
The HSF 250 Patriot line stop fitting incorporates features that matter most to our customers — 250 psi working pressure, UL NSF 61 Classified, heavy-duty stainless steel construction and a push-and-pin completion plug system.
The HSF 250 Line stop fitting Valve is manufactured in the USA and meets requirements specified in the “Buy American Act.” Meets “Buy American” requirements. Meets "American Iron and Steel Act", “Made in USA” and “Buy America” requirements with the additional purchase of stainless steel domestic hardware.
Meeting the Highest Standards
The HSF 250 Patriot water main line stop fittings are NSF 61 and ANSI 372 certified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. to be used as a fully UL®-compliant component of water systems in the United States.
NSF/ANSI Standard 61 was established to provide minimum requirements for the control of potential adverse human health effects from products that contact drinking water. This includes criteria for testing and evaluating products to ensure they do not leach potentially harmful contaminants into the water system.
Simple Installation
Each HSF 250 Patriot fitting is factory pressure-tested and serialized for traceability before leaving our facility. The blind flange and fitting body arrive ready to be placed on the pipe for pressure testing. The nylon “push-and-pin” completion plug saves installation time and eliminates the possibility of a cross-threaded completion plug. Other time-saving features — such as integrated lifting gussets, drop-in bolts and slotted flange — make for safe, fast and simplified installations.
How It Works
The line stopping technique utilized in the Hydra-Stop System is a means of temporarily plugging a pressurized pipe without disrupting pressure or service upstream of the stop. Hot tap is first made into the main, allowing insertion of the Hydra-Stopper line-stopping device into the main under pressure. After the work is completed, the operator removes the line stop machine and attaches a completion plug under pressure.
