Star - String Wound Cartridge Filter
A string wound cartridge filter is a type of depth filter used in water filtration and purification systems. It is made up of a cylindrical core with tightly wound strings of polypropylene, cotton, or other materials. The strings are wound around the core in a criss-cross pattern, creating a densely packed, multi-layered filter medium.
The tightly wound strings of the string wound cartridge filter provide a high dirt holding capacity, meaning that the filter can trap a large amount of sediment and other particles before needing to be replaced. The criss-cross pattern of the strings also creates a tortuous path for the water to flow through, which helps to remove smaller particles that may be missed by other types of filters.
String wound cartridge filters are commonly used in industrial, commercial, and residential water filtration systems. They are particularly effective at removing sediment, sand, dirt, and other particulate matter from water. They can also be used to remove chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other contaminants.
At Star Filter Industries, we manufacture string wound cartridge filters using high-quality materials and advanced manufacturing techniques. Our filters are available in a range of sizes and configurations to meet the needs of different applications. We offer string wound cartridge filters with a variety of core materials, including polypropylene, stainless steel, and ceramic. We also offer filters with different winding densities, which can affect the filter’s dirt holding capacity and flow rate.
