Ion-Exchange Waterleau - Submerged Membrane Bioreactor
Membrane Bioreactors For Compact Waste Water Treatment & Recycle. Ion Exchange Waterleau Ltd. offers two different membrane bioreactor concepts to produce an effluent that is extremely pure and appropriate for immediate reuse. Micro and ultra filtration membranes can be used for the separation of sludge and biologically purified waste water. By replacing the sedimentation step by membrane separation it is possible to operate the bioreactor at much higher concentrations, thereby reducing the volume of the bioreactor drastically. An extra advantage of the fact that the filtrate is virtually free from suspended solids and bacteria since these cannot pass the membranes. The filtrate will thus be ready for reuse or for further treatment by reverse osmosis. Two membrane bioreactor concepts are possible depending on the choice either to submerge the membranes into the bioreactor or place these membranes in an external loop.
- Single packaged unit with minimal civil construction – minimum land usage
- Modular in construction and design
- Compact – requires ½ - 1/3 space of conventional system
- Low energy consumption (0.30 kwh/m3) for submerged filtration
- Upto 6 log (99.999%) removal of total coliform
- No chemicals required during treatment
- Low operating cos
Ideal for Housing complexes * Townships * Hotels * Golf & Country Clubs * Industrial Estates * Existing Plant Upgradation
With the INDION Submerged Membrane Bioreactor, the higher biomass concentrations can be kept in a reactor causing a decrease of the bioreactor volume with a factor 3-4 compared to a conventional sludge system. Furthermore, the energy consumption is kept to minimum by placing the hollow fibre membranes inside the reactor.
