How to Prevent Submersible Slurry Pump Overheating

First of all: keep enought liquid level and make sure adequate cooling:
• Underwater
  Slurry submersible pumps are cooled by the around liquid, therefore make sure the slurry pump is completely submerged.

• Low Liquid Level Safeguard
  Installed a low liquid level switch to automatic shutoff the pump when the liquid is lower to prohibit its dry rotation and overheat operation.

• Cooling Jacket
  For large change of liquid level projects, please give priority to use cooling jackets which can wrap the motor housing with coolant liquid, the motor can continously run even it is not submerged completely.

 

Secondly, maintance and clean regularly
• Check Blockage
  Reguarly check if any blockages or debris in the pump or inlet, for the blockages or debris will limit flow and generate overheat.

• Clean Filter and Impeller
  Reguarly clean or change the filter or impeller, for the dirty parts will limit the flow and increase the working load result to overheating.

• Inspect Electric System

• Inspect Packing Issues
  The over tight of hte pump packing will lead to dry run and overheating. Loosen the packing to decrease the pressure.

• Change the Thrust Bearing Direction
