ScanROV - Model GHD10 -Subsea Heavy Duty Grab
The ScanROV GHD-10 is designed and built by Scanmudring during the spring of 2017. This 10m3 of-the-shelf landbased grab, customized for subsea use by Scanmudring, is excellent for removal of large volumes. It will have high capacities regardless of soil, also in challenging material.
In sticky clay, there are no other tool that are close to the capacity achieved and proven by this solution, this system is in the range of 3 - 6 times more effective than other existing tools in the marked. The unique position system delivered by the ScanROV in combination with using a horizontal pulling winch makes both operation and relocation very efficient (dump area is considered below 20m from the excavation area).
On it’s first dive (300m test dive) it was not recovered but put straight into operation for 84hrs without any fault.
The monitoring system PDS2000 gives valuable positioning and progress feedback. When using the ScanROV in Grab mode, the most optimal grab pattern will be calculated by the MOS, this includes vessel position for each of the grabs.
