TALON - Sulfide Elimination System for Wastewater Treatment
Streamline Innovations TALON® Sulfide Elimination System (TSES™) is a low to no capex solution for treating H2S in water and wastewater, eliminating the source of foul odors, corrosion and cross reactions with other chemical processes. The TSES utilizes our TALON Redox catalyst combined with an oxygen source (primarily Hydrogen Peroxide), creating an advanced oxidation process that breaks apart H2S and converts it to elemental sulfur. In addition, TALON is used for advanced oxidization of other contaminants including dissolved organic matter, volatile organic compounds, and metals along with sludge solids to control H2S and odor issues. TSES can be applied to a wide range of treating needs for water or wastewater with sulfides or other contaminants including Municipal and Industrial Wastewater, Oil & Gas Produced Water Reuse, Sour Groundwater, and storage pits with water turned septic or settled sludge to name a few.
The TSES Process is a Redox reaction that utilizes an oxidant plus TALON to turn H2S into elemental sulfur which cannot reform into H2S again. Utilizing the TSES Process to control H2S is among the lowest cost approaches in the industry. Further, the destructive reaction kinetics in wastewater are quite rapid with a 100 ppm sample of hydrogen sulfide being 80% reacted in the first minute and completely oxidized in four minutes.
The TSES process can remain viable for up to four hours in most wastewater applications and due to its low chemical feed requirements, it does not have negative effects on system microbiology.
