Farmchem - Tank Monitoring System

Farmchem`s Tank Monitoring System is the automatic measurement and communication of liquid levels in bulk tanks regardless of location. Each tank monitoring system consists of 4 basic components.

• A sensor that is appropriate for the particular liquid being measured and the needs of the required application.
• A monitor that converts the signal or information from the sensor into tank level data.
• Internet telemetry as a low cost backbone to communicate the data to a central server where all tank level data is stored.
• An Internet based data management system that provides actionable information to multiple decision makers to improve the management and control of critical inventory levels at all monitored sites.

Sensors
Farmchem recognizes that different applications and needs will require different sensor technology to achieve the desired results and we work to provide the best for each application. Typical sensors include ultrasonic, pressure, and Micropower Impulse Radar (MIR), each of which works best for different applications and conditions. Tank size, location, and geometry will all impact the sensor choice as will the liquid being measured and the degree of accuracy required.
 
Monitors
Farmchem designs and manufactures its own monitors to ensure that the latest technology is available to control the sensors and convert the sensor data into actionable information for customers. For remote locations without access to utilities we offer a solar recharged battery powered monitor that is virtually maintenance free yet will deliver accurate and timely data. For locations requiring a local real time readout of tank levels, we offer a monitor that communicates with up to 25 tanks simultaneously with readings taken every second.
 
Telemetry
The third component is the communication between the tank sensors and monitors and a central server where all tank data is collected and stored. Based upon a tanks location, we offer multiple telemetry options to meet customer needs. These range from digital cellular, to plain old phone service (POTS), to TCP/IP, to satellite. In all cases it is the use of Internet telemetry that provides the basis for moving data quickly so that timely data is available for improved supply chain management.
 
Data Management
Finally, inventory data must be available to multiple decision makers to enable them to better manage their inventory across all locations. It is important to provide this data in a form and format, with appropriate analytical tools, that allows the value of the data to be fully realized. The same data can be shared with customers and/or suppliers as well to ensure that all supply chain participants have access to the data they need to achieve their inventory management goals. The necessary backend systems to support these analytical tools are all built in house by our IT development group and are hosted on Microsoft web servers and use Microsoft SQL Server to store your data. This allows us to make improvements and provide new features without relying on slower outside development consultants. We are currently and continually working on new features for the website and other backend systems and thanks to the power of the Internet you gain these new features seamlessly without any need to hire someone to install or maintain any software.
