Since 2003, Luzchem has been located at the Canotek Industrial Park in Ottawa, where it has 4000 sq ft of research and manufacturing space. Dr. Scaiano, Luzchem`s chief scientist, is responsible for R&D efforts directed to the development of new spectroscopy products.

Dr. Scaiano also holds the position of Distinguished University Professor at the University of Ottawa and is the Canada Research Chair in Applied Photochemistry. Scaiano is also the winner of the 2002 Gerhard Herzberg NSERC gold medal in Science and Engineering, Canada`s top science prize, and an officer of the Order of Canada.

In 2007 Luzchem was honored by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce by being selected as a finalist in the Small Business of the Year category. Luzchem won the Award in October 2007. This vote of confidence by the Ottawa Business Community provides great impetus for our company`s development.

With over 600 instruments in the field and over 90% of them in regular use, Luzchem receives regular feedback about the needs of the community, and participates in scientific meetings as a way to make sure it remains aware of their changing needs and offers products that meet the requirements of its customer base.
