Traficon - Wireless Traffic Monitoring System
Objective: The Traficon project is to provide a Collect-R, seamless, wireless traffic monitoring device, with embedded GSM/GPRS module that allows traffic data to be transmitted to the server wirelessly. Bluetooth allows customers to configure the device, which is installed in certain height, using a handheld device. With realtime data using wireless, it can be used for temporary or permanent applications.
Approach
iWOW has been selected by Traficon as a partner to integrate wireless connectivity to improve the mobility of the traffic monitoring device.
Result
The Collect-R is serving as a tool for eliciting traffic feedback from the control room operators. It collects and handles the traffic information (e.g. vehicle count, speed, classification, etc) through vary sensors, and then transfer them to the center through GPRS.
