Industry & Application Experience: Cambridge Water Screen Systems designs and fabricates custom Trash Racks and Bar Screens for cooling or processing water at power plants and industrial facilities, as well as, for stormwater, wastewater treatment and other applications. Our experience includes both new construction and replacement projects, as well as, reverse engineering old systems to repair or replace damaged equipment.
Trash Rack with reinforced 3/8” mesh overlay and interlocking sections. Part of a 60-foot sectional system at a power plant that is installed when their large traveling screens are pulled out of the river for maintenance.
System Design & PE Certification: Our engineers will design custom Trash Racks and Bar Screens to meet a wide range of bar thickness, spacing and project-specific requirements. The final design will receive a PE certification stamp if required. We design our Water Screen Systems per ASD (Allowable Stress Design) specifications. The PE stamp confirms our calculations that the screens and frames can withstand the loading from the forces due to the given flow rate, the dimensions of the water intake opening, and screen clogging percentage.
Fabrication Material: We fabricate our Trash Rack and Bar Screen systems in carbon and galvanized steel, and T304 and T316 stainless steel.

- New guide channels (if needed) for installation, maintenance and cleaning that can be embedded in the concrete or bolted to the intake structure.
