CH2O - Treating Cooling Systems
CH2O’s POSCATM Cooling Tower Treatment is designed to mitigate common issues in open recirculating cooling systems such as corrosion, mineral deposition, and biological fouling. By using this treatment, the solubility of minerals in water is significantly increased, which helps in preventing scale formation. Particularly noteworthy is its compatibility with CH2O’s BIO-GUARD™ Series microbiocides, making it notably effective in maintaining clean cooling systems. The treatment employs a threshold inhibition mechanism, which has been evidenced through laboratory tests showing that 1 ppm of active POSCATM can inhibit the precipitation of 600 ppm of calcium carbonate for at least seven days at a pH of 8.5 and room temperature. This stands in contrast to the normal solubility of calcium carbonate which is about 15 ppm under similar conditions. Implementing CH2O's POSCATM not only helps in reducing the tendency of mineral deposits but also aids in removing existing ones, contributing to enhanced efficiency, extended equipment life, and long-term cost savings. CH2O’s products thus ensure operational optimization, making water work effectively within your cooling systems.
