KroftaTriple Wire Belt Filter Press

SHARE

Our all new Triple Wire Belt Filter Press (BFP-T) is a continuously operating belt dewatering machine. The presses are sized for dewatering different kinds of sludges by means of gravity drainage followed by progressive compression between two permeable belts.

Liquid sludge is conditioned by adding polymer to obtain the separation between liquid and solids. This operation is performed in a flocculator with variable speed agitator. Very watery sludge gently flows from flocculator to the belt of gravity drain table of the belt filter press, where excess water drains to create a sludge layer of even thickness. The still watery sludge is slightly lifted and dropped repeatedly on the continuously moving belt to break the surface tension and promote water release by a set of ‘ploughs’. A set of ‘hydrofoils’ located below the moving belt further promotes water release. The gravity drain belt is part of an independent horizontal gravity drain table with belt tensioning, scrapper blade and variable speed drive.

The wet sludge drops on the continuously moving upper belt and moves towards low pressure a squeezing zone. The independent gravity drain table belt and upper belt together can drain very large quantity of water which makes it possible to accept and satisfactorily process low consistency feed to the belt filter press.

The dewatered cake is finally discharged by separately scrapping both the belts as they are separated from each other by the drive rollers. The belt fabric is selected such that very little solid particle would cling to the belt after scrapping. All three belts are individually washed by wash water sprayed through nozzles.
