The PBS TJ80 engines are compact sub-sonic jet engines specifically designed for UAV systems, including target drones, remote carriers, unmanned combat systems, and other disposable aircraft. They feature excellent thrust-to-weight ratio, with a thrust of 900 – 1,200 N and a weight of 12.5 – 13 kg.
They are a single-shaft turbojet engine equipped with BLDC starter-generator, electric fuel pump and electronic control system. They are lubricated with a fuel-oil mixture, and they generate 650 W of power through their integrated generator. The engines may be customised by adjusting the length of the exhaust pipe.
The PBS TJ80 engines feature capabilities such as ground and in-flight start and restart, along with saltwater recovery. Additionally, the engines enable quick windmill starting and maintain operational envelope limits suitable for air-launched applications, with a maximum altitude of 10,000 m and speed of 0.9 M.
