Scarab Mistral - Model 12 - 18 tonne GVW -Twin Engine Road Sweeper
The Mistral is equally at home in municipal, urban or heavy duty contracting work, having been designed for mounting on truck chassis in the 12 - 18* tonne GVW range. The Twindrive configuration provides a familiar transmission and power-delivery system for users whose operational needs call for auxiliary engine power. The ability to combine different chassis, hoppers and water tanks ensures that the Mistral is an agile street sweeper with exceptional on-task endurance.
The Mistral street sweeper can be fitted to a wide range of chassis including those from DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes, Volvo, Renault, Hino and UD.
Twin Drive
The Mistral has been designed for operators who prefer a twin-engine configuration but who also wish to benefit from the very best in sweeper technology.

Auxiliary Engine
The low-emission engine was selected for its ability to provide ample power at low revolutions. Its position, between hopper and water tank, reduces in-cab noise levels and also facilitates ease of servicing, with all engine filters and service points being accessible from the large working platform.
Hydraulic System
The Scarab fluid drive system is directly coupled to the auxiliary engine. By eliminating drive belts, gearboxes and flywheel couplings, it ensures quiet, efficient sweeping and suction performance and a high degree of reliability.
All the hydraulic control components are housed in a secure locker.
Scarab’s CANbus control system has revolutionised the way sweepers are operated and maintained.
Intuitive controls and a conveniently positioned colour monitor provide comprehensive levels of feedback to both operating and service personnel.
A graphical display indicates the sweeping configuration and conditions of the vehicle systems including warnings and regular service reminders. Real-time monitoring and datalogging provides valuable assistance in resolving problems and achieving optimum machine performance.
Scarab CANbus includes universal connectors for fitment of Global positioning System (GPS) and the option of real-time data via telematic up-link.
