FromOlpas
SHARE
The Olpas OTE-TSSC-001 is an advanced total suspended solids (TSS) sensor designed for challenging water environments, including urban sewers, overflows, and influent systems. Utilizing ultrasound backscattering measurement principles, it offers a robust measuring range from 0 to 6 g/L, unaffected by changes in optical parameters or fluid color. This pre-calibrated Modbus sensor allows flexible installation, with options for both fixed mounting using M10 brackets and suspension via a stainless-steel chain. The device is engineered from anodized aluminum with a fluorine rubber sealing and epoxy sensor window to ensure durability. Maintenance requirements are minimal due to its resistance to fouling, which eliminates the need for wipers or pressured air cleaning. It supports Modbus RTU communication via a four-wire cable with a 4-pin M12 connector, and can be powered by DC supply voltage ranging between 6V and 24V. This makes it ideal for remote and difficult-to-access locations, where solar or battery power is preferred.

TSS sensor for placement in open water, (urban) sewers, overflows, influent or other challenging environments.
Pre-calibrated modbus-sensor.

Thanks to using the OLPAS ultrasound measurement technology, the sensor is much less negatively impacted by fouling on the sensor head.

This results in maintenance intervals that are much longer compared to optical sensors.

There is no need for wipers.

Advantages

  1. The ultrasound OLPAS Technology provides a robust measurement that is not prone to changing water colour or other optical changes that are not relevant for the actual TSS

  2. Olpas sensors measure through fouling, requiring

  3.  much less maintenance

  4. and no need for automated mechanical cleaning (no wipers, no pressured air)

  5. Due to the longer maintenance window, Olpas sensors can be installed on hard to reach locations (eg. in sewers), while still providing an economical measurement

Measurement Principle:

Ultrasound backscattering

Measuring Range: 0 - 10 g/L, 0 - 4g/L, 0 - 6 g/L
