VALLON - Model VMR3 -'Minehound' Dual-Sensor Detector for Explosive Ordnance Detection
The VMR3 'Minehound' is a dual-sensor detector designed for the detection of both metal and non-metal objects, crucial for identifying improvised explosive devices (IEDs). It features dual audio signals to distinguish between metal detection and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) results, providing detailed acoustic data on object depth and size. The device is equipped with an LED display for visual signal support. Built with carbon and glass fiber-reinforced plastics, it ensures robustness and meets military and humanitarian demining standards. Its watertight body, capable of IP68 protection at a depth of 1.5 meters, assures reliability under extreme conditions. The VMR3 adheres to MIL-STD-810G for environmental robustness, operates in temperatures ranging from -31°C to 63°C, and has storage temperatures from -51°C to 71°C. Weighing approximately 4.0 kg with a standard battery, it exhibits durable construction ideal for field conditions.
The VMR3 "Minehound" dual-sensor detector is internationally proven. It is ideal for the simultaneous detection of metal and metal-free objects. This is a decisive advantage e.g. for the detection of IEDs.
Two different audio signals help the user distinguish between the ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and metal detector (MD). The MD provides a simple alarm while the GPR supplies acoustic information on the depth and dimension of the object. Based on the settings, the audio signals are visually supported by the LED display.
The VMR3 is also characterized by its mechanical features: The use of carbon and glass fiber-reinforced plastic makes it extremely rugged and durable.
It meets high standards for military mine clearance and humanitarian demining.
- Dual-sensor search head with metal detector (MD) and ground-penetrating radar (GPR)
- Rugged mechanical design with high-quality carbon telescoping carrying bar
- High sensitivity combined with high-efficiency soil compensation
- Detection of minimum metal and metal-free objects such as improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
- Easily noticeable alarm indication (audio/visual/vibration)
