Vapor Point - VaporLock Systems
Vapor Point’s patented VaporLockTM Hydraulic AmalgamationTM process is achieved through two tightly integrated components: advanced scrubber vessel designs perfectly matched with targeted proprietary chemistries. When Vapor Point’s mechanical and chemical technologies are combined, we can provide for up to 100 percent recovery or removal of VOCs, HAPs, and other unwanted contaminants. We engineer each VaporLockTM system to match your emission stream dynamics. Our efficient and reliable VaporLock solutions allows carbon to perform as it was originally intended—simply as a final polisher. With Vapor Point’s VaporLockTM Hydraulic AmalgamationTM process, most customers save at least 15 percent overall on emission compliance costs.
VaporLock’s Carbon Advantage
For most air compliance applications, federal regulations require that vapor streams pass through activated carbon prior to atmospheric discharge. We’ve found that because most competing technologies operate with such unpredictable variability, attached carbon systems are often misapplied, resulting in much higher overall operating costs.
To save your carbon, we engineer Our VaporLock CarbonXT system to tightly integrate with your vapor stream applications. Our consistent, efficient system works as the ultimate carbon protector, allowing you to use carbon merely as a final “polisher” of the vapor stream. Most customers recognize total control system savings of at least 15% versus using carbon as a stand-alone solution. Even where normal contaminant levels are not high, VaporLock can extend carbon by mitigating peak loading of VOC contaminant levels.
VaporLock in the Field
The key to air compliance with the VaporLock system begins with a comprehensive project assessment, which ensures that VaporLock system configurations and operating procedures achieve your desired safety and compliance goals. Once we’ve established your application requirements, we’ll match the correct vessel with a corresponding chemical formulation, and engineer a vessel array that will ensure environmental compliance. The modularity of the VaporLock system permits us to scale our products to suit nearly any air compliance need. As your project proceeds, the scalable VaporLock systems can be modified to meet changing project demands.
Sometimes our VaporLock technology can be enhanced with third-party ancillary equipment. When we engineer your air compliance solution, we may integrate positive displacement pumps and blowers, liquid coalescers, flame arrestors, piping and manifolding systems, spill protection, or specialized monitoring equipment.
In the field, VaporLock is an effective, low maintenance, low manpower operation. Once installed, our systems have minimal maintenance components, which results in lower operating costs versus competitive systems. The VaporLock process has numerous advantages over traditional control devices:
- Up to 100% recovery efficiency
- Manages highly contaminated emissions (greater than 100,000 ppm)
- Air flow velocities between 0 and 8000 CFM
- No heat generation concerns
- No creation of NOx or CO2 pollutants
- Increases carbon life—minimizes change-outs and labor
- Modular / adaptable design
- Advanced vessel design ensures minimal field maintenance
- Conversion of recovered fluids with high-BTU fuel value
- No waste disposal for VOC applications
Our Chemistries
Capturing VOCs
Our flagship chemistry is VaporSorb, specially formulated to capture and recover hydrocarbon-based compounds. When matched with our patented vessel designs, VaporSorb is the most effective and environmentally sound solution for the control of VOCs. VaporSorb is inherently non-hazardous, and can be re-processed through any refinery’s slop oil and oily water treatment systems.
Capturing H2S
SourSorb removes even high concentrations of H2S, allowing safe operation during unit cleaning, sump cleaning, and tank cleaning projects. The SourSorb chemistry has a capture efficiency of 100% when paired with our VaporLock vessels. We have developed variations of SourSorb for non-hazardous applications and corrosive environments.
Capturing Other Contaminants
Vapor Point can provide chemistries that address many other hazardous air pollutants (HAPS) and odorous contaminants. In addition to VOCs and H2S, we have chemistry formulations for sulfur dioxide, mercaptans, and ammonia. We continue to experiment and innovate with our chemistries, and have formed strategic alliances with industry partners to formulate other blends to address any industry need.
Our Vessels
Our patented vessels make up the other half of our patented VaporLock system. We have spent years testing the designs of our vessels, and now have an array of sizes and configurations to suit nearly any air compliance goal. They are designed to be safe, reliable, modular, and cost-effective. No energy inputs are required, and any of our scrubber configurations can be set up to control VOC, H2S, ammonia, or many other emissions.
