Transvac - Vapour Recovery Unit Ejectors
We supply Ejectors for use on Vapour Recovery Units (VRUs), also known as Vent Gas Recovery Units. Our ejectors use Liquid Jet Pump or Gas Ejector Technology to compress vent gas for recovery. This gas is either pumped back into the storage tanks that emitted the vapour, or off into pipework for sale and distribution. Our Ejectors function by use of a high-pressure motive fluid (usually water). This fluid is used to entrain the low-pressure vapour that has been recovered. The Ejector then mixes both inputs and discharges them at an intermediate pressure.
Vapour Recovery is used in the Oil & Gas industry to prevent the release of harmful gasses to atmosphere such as BTEX emissions. Vapour Recovery Units are normally found alongside crude oil or condensate storage tanks but can also be used with casing heads, storage tanks holding produced water or Glycol Dehydration Systems. When excess gas pressure builds in these storage applications, a Vapour Recovery Unit removes excess vapour, compressing it for discharge and fluid handling, preventing release to atmosphere.
Vapour Recovery Systems offer both economic and environmental benefits. By compressing and re-injecting usable gas into storage or distribution, Oil & Gas operators can turn otherwise wasted gas into revenue. Recovering vapour also prevents the release of harmful, toxic gasses to atmosphere. This prevents unnecessary damage to local wildlife and human populations. Preventing the release of this gas can also help operators stay compliant with their environmental permits.
For many of the reasons that Ejectors are ideal Flare Gas Recovery, they are also perfectly suited for use in Vapour Recovery applications. Our ejectors commonly replace existing mechanical compressors as they offer more reliable service, with less down-time for repairs. Where mechanical compressors are prone to wear and failure, Ejectors do not have any moving parts and therefor do not require any maintenance.
Many of our units have been in service for decades without interference, learn more about Ejector Longevity. Our Vapour Recovery Units can only require power from a motive liquid flow, and so do not need to drain existing gas resources for power. Ejectors are of simple construction and can be designed as per piping codes, which means they are not prone to leakage, unlike compressor seals which experience high levels of wear leading to regular leakage and failure. Our Ejectors are also highly tolerant to corrosion when handling sour gasses such as HS2. We can manufacture from exotic alloys depending on your specific process requirements.
Our Vapour Recovery Unit Ejectors can be fitted to any system where an appropriate high-pressure motive flow is available for use. Specific unit applications may include:
- Casing head gas recovery
- Crude oil and condensate tank recovery
- Produced water tank vapour recovery
- BTEX emissions prevention
- Long service life
- Low OPEX costs
- Easy to maintain
- Simple construction
- Corrosion resistant
