Venturi Scrubbers

SHARE
Venturi scrubbers are used primarily for particulate removal, and operate on the principle of impaction and agglomeration. Liquid is added to the venturi inlet and accelerated with the gas stream to a high velocity in the venturi throat, where it is forced into intimate contact with the particulate and gaseous contaminants, increasing the particulate mass and momentum. The now-wetted particle is then impacted and removed at the flooded elbow and on the walls of the attached spinout chamber Ambient venturi scrubbers operate over a wide range of flow rates and are effective control devices for fine particles down to the sub-micron range. Throat sizes are optimized for your specific application, and both fixed and vari6bl.6 throat designs are available. For those applications where the gas flow rate can change significantly, variable venturi throats, automatically or manually actuated, are used to maintain optimum design conditions.
