The HG8000 / HG8000TX horizontal grinders from Vermeer boast the largest infeed opening in their class, helping to increase your productivity and expand job possibilities.

Powered by a 1050-hp (783 kW) CAT Tier 2 engine, these units handle big diameter wood and large, brushy debris with ease. Plus, its innovative design incorporates several features to help reduce material spillage and jobsite cleanup time.

The HG8000 is equipped with a fifthwheel towing configuration and is available with either super single or dual wheels, while the HG8000TX features a tracked undercarriage with 28" (71.1 cm) wide double or triple-grouser track pads.

Both grinders feature dual-sided reversible hammers and cutter blocks that provide increased cutting performance, lower maintenance, and nearly double the life of single-sided designs. A replaceable mill liner fully lines the sides, floor, and underside of the feed roller carrier, helping protect structural integrity. Liners can also be easily replaced when their wear limit is reached.

Large Infeed

At 50" (127 cm) high by 71.5" (182 cm) wide, the HG8000 / HG8000TX have the largest infeed openings of any horizontal grinders on the market. Plus, they feature a low-speed, high-torque infeed conveyor drive motor for powerful feeding and a reinforced, heavy-duty alloy conveyor chain. Operators are able to process greater volumes of material and larger product usually reserved for a tub grinder.

Wide Loadout Conveyor

At 14 to 18` (4.3 to 5.5 m) discharge height for the HG8000, 14.5` (4.4 m) for the HG8000TX, the 66" (168 cm) wide loadout conveyors are the widest around. This allows for greater volume of processing with less chance of spillage or plugging.

Series II Duplex Drum

With reversible hammers and cutter blocks, this drum offers nearly double the life of single-sided designs, producing optimum cutting performance and simplified maintenance.

Smart Grind

Three preset grinding settings: aggressive, general, and regrind reduce operator training time and result in more consistent end product. A fourth setting can be customized for specific product needs.

Dual Planetary Feed Roller Drive

For added torque and greater processing power, the large feed roller features dual planetary drive motors.

Screen Hoist

The on-board screen handler system is unique to the HG8000 / HG8000TX and comes with either a manual or optional pneumatic hoist to help operators save time with easy screen changes.

Replaceable Anvil

The heavy-duty anvil structure features a 2" (5 cm) top plate with a 1" (2.5 cm) replaceable wear surface. The entire anvil is replaceable from ground-level in the event of damage from a contaminant. All of the hardware used to secure the anvil is located outside the machine away from the material wear path.

Remote Control

In addition to most machine functions, the discharge height is adjustable via remote control (trailer unit only), a feature unique to the industry that helps keep operators productive and the machine working efficiently.
