The most popular usage of vertical dryer is drying coal briquettes, gypsum briquettes, mineral powder briquettes, etc. Featured with low investment, good drying effect, small land area, low breakdown, vertical briquette dryer is optimal drying equipment for large or medium briquetting line.
Hot air moves in the ducts inside of dryer, and enters the space between briquettes by holes on ducts. Briquettes move towards the bottom of dryer by gravity. During this stage, wet briquettes absorb the heat of high temperature airflow. After 2-3h drying, moisture given by wet briquettes is taken away by strong wind. The final moisture content could be 2-3%. Practice has proved only when moisture content of coal briquettes is reduced to 3%, no cracking, collapse and pulverization would happen in the gasification.
