VF NUCLEAR - Model KMNA-01 -Low-Level Meter Calibration Device
KMNA-01 low-level meter calibration device is intended for the automatic calibration and the testing of the detectors and the meters that are used for gamma radiation measurements. The calibration device allows the sensitivity, energy dependence, and the other parameters of the tested meter to determine.
The calibration device is mainly applicable where a high number of meters is calibrated repeatedly and where the high repeatability is required.
The calibration device is designed as a working bench that includes:
- source holder in a lead shield
- shield of the tested meter
- ionizing radiation source manipulator
- connecting unit of the tested detectors that includes HV sources, LV sources, counters and the other interfaces for connecting the detectors
- control unit
- software that manages the calibration device, builds up the calibration methods and stores the data
During calibration, the operator should fix the calibrated detector or the meter in the shield and electrically connect it to the KMNA-01 calibration device. Then the operator enters the ID of the tested meter, or the selected methods, into the software and starts to calibrate. The control software successively selects the required source from the source holders according to the methods, sets them to the required distance and measures. After completing, the data is stored into the database; then the protocol is printed including the certificate on conformity (or non-conformity) with the conditions entered. The host PC can be connected via a network to the master control and information system.
