VF NUCLEAR - Model LAD-07 -Liquid Activity Detector
The Liquid Activity Detector is specifically engineered to perform precise measurements of radionuclides, such as 88Kr and 132I, within the coolant of a nuclear reactor`s primary circuit. This detector plays a crucial role in monitoring the integrity of the reactor`s fuel cells, as it identifies radionuclide presence in the coolant, which is an indicator of potential leaks in the fuel cells. This advanced device offers robust functionality, providing accurate data that supports the maintenance and operational safety of nuclear reactors. The detector is indispensable for nuclear facilities as it helps in early detection of anomalies, thereby ensuring timely interventions and maintaining the overall integrity of the reactor system`s cooling mechanism.
- Monitoring of fuel integrity through Kr-88 detection in the primary circuit of a nuclear reactor
- Attached to line (ATL) monitor
- Detector shielding reducing the response to increased background
- Water cooled monitor
- Checking of the detector function by means of LED check source (without using radioactive source)
The detector is designed to measure the 88Kr radionuclide in the coolant of the primary circuit of a nuclear reactor, which is released into the coolant only in case of fuel cell leaks.
The detector consists of:
- GD-52 based on 2.5 "x 2.5" NaI(Tl) gamma detector (correct probe functionality can be checked by built-in test LED),
- Sandwich shielding GD-52 (lead, tin, copper) near the pipeline with the measured liquid,
- Stainless steel cooler GD-52, through which the coolant flows (ensuring that the maximum working temperature of the detector is not exceeded),
- RPU-12 Data Acquisition and Processing Units with 1024 Channel Analyzer (MCA) to evaluate data from the detector.
