Model Pure FID -VOC Measuring Device
Measuring VOC, Volatile Organic Compounds, or solvent in the air is a challenging task for companies. The instruments are expensive and the calibration and interpretation of the results are complex and need to be executed by experienced and skilled professionals. At Pure Infinity we’ve got the solution: meet our VOC measuring device, the Pure FID.
The industry has a need for knowledge of the VOC’s that their factory emits and the solvents that remain in the building. This has two main reasons: an increasing demand for indoor quality in production facilities and for reducing the VOC and solvent emissions. The latter is also a legal requirement. You first need to know what is emitted, in order to know which specific solution can solve the VOC problem. Whether it is sufficient to simply change the production process or if it is necessary to install a VOC treatment system. The first step in this process is the measurement of emissions in the factory. Because production is always fluctuating, VOC concentrations also variate. It is recommended to measure for a longer period of time in order to have an overall view on the VOC concentrations and loadings. Measuring for a couple of days, up to a several weeks, gives a full insight into the VOC problem.
The Pure Infinity FID (short for Flame Ionization Detector) is a plug & play integrated system. It can sample four locations at the same time. If necessary, the system has an integrated automated cleaning system for the sample lines by blowing air in reverse through the sample lines. Condensation water will be removed from the sample lines to ensure maximum accuracy and protection for the analyser. The FID gives a rapid, accurate and continuous reading of total VOC concentration for levels as low as ppb.
At Pure Infinity we have FID’s for rent. These are built in a complete case with PLC remote connection by GSM to our servers for data collection. The setup of the FID can be done by a Pure Infinity professional or a staff member of your organization in approximately 30 minutes. Once connected to the electricity, the system will connect with our servers and we can control, monitor and collect the data.
Detailed resultsOnce setup, the system can run for long periods up to several months. The FID records standard data per 6 seconds – so every minute there are 10 measurements of the concentration of the solvents or VOC’s in the air. The FID measures on 1 mg/Nm3 accurate. This data is combined with a separate sample that is analysed in the lab. This allows us to differentiatie between the different types of VOC’s and know the precise total VOC concentration. Results can be presented as either raw data in .csv or Excel or be shown in a full report with our professional interpretation of the data.
