Axial piston pumps are integral components in hydraulic systems, tasked with building up pressure to transfer power to connected drive elements via hydraulic oil. Characterized by pistons acting nearly parallel to the drive axle, these pumps come in two main types: bent axis pumps and swash plate pumps. In bent axis pumps, the cylinder housing is inclined relative to the drive shaft, whereas in swash plate pumps, it remains parallel, with piston stroke achieved through a sliding disc. This design allows for multiple pumps to be driven by a single shaft in swash plate configurations. Both models permit piston stroke adjustment for varying delivery rates, enhancing their adaptability.
