Wall-mounted penstocks are used in tank and pool structures in water and wastewater treatment plants to control flow and provide insulation. Sealing is achieved by using P, V, and double-lip type rubber seals on all four edges of the penstocks, resulting in very low leakage rates of 0.4 liters/min for a 1 m seal length (under 5 m on-seat or 4 m off-seat pressure). Wall penstocks are available in a wide range of sizes and are custom-designed according to the opening to be sealed and the pressure it will be subjected to.
