It is an integral component to the DP boiler product range, and is a highly reliable and proven technology which has been refined and optimized by DP through many years of operational experience and pioneering modifications. It has been fully integrated with DP’s patented combustion system to produce the most efficient High Pressure, High Temperature straw-fired boiler technology in the world.

The Water Cooled Vibrating Grate is a well-established grate system that provides an intermittent vibration for conveying and distributing fuel evenly, and continuous discharge of fuel ash. It is particularly suited to biomass fuels and has a very efficient carbon burnout rate, which allows an increase in over-fire air, and a subsequent reduction in the amount of thermal NOx created. It has few moving parts, and therefore has low maintenance requirements.
The Water Cooling system provides the necessary cooling to reduce heat damage to the grate and maintain the long term integrity of the grate surface. Heat damage to the grate - such as warping - can lead to the need for additional combustion air which reduces efficiency.
