1 Water Source Input
Sea Water, Brackish Water & Fresh Water.
2 System Power Input
Grid Connection, Generator (Hydrogen), Solar + Battery & Wind + Battery.
3 Pre-Treatment
Remove all elements that influence the process. The system is adapted according to feed water quality. A screening of the feedwater is required.
4 Main Treatment
Ultrafiltration & Reverse Osmosis Process.
5 Post-Treatment
Mineralization: addition of minerals or essential elements according to the requested water quality.
6 Water Output
Drinking Water, Arable Water & Industrial Process Water
The aquaBREG water treatment system has been operating for over a year and a half on different locations.
The system was tested with seawater from June to August 2022 in Nieuwpoort-aan-zee. Subsequently it was tested with De Dijle river water from September to November 2022 in Leuven.
An official lab took samples during these test periods and concluded that the water produced meets the strict Belgian* and European* drinking water standard.
Currently, the system is located at Variapack in Leuven where it has been active during 2023.
