SHARE

Weld-in long radius nozzles are used as flow elements for flow measurement of aggressive and non-aggressive gases, steam and liquids.

Weld-in long radius nozzles are mainly used for high pressure, high temperature applications, especially in power plants.

Long radius nozzles consist of a rounded inlet section and a cylindrical throat. The rounded inlet section has the shape of a quarter ellipse. The pressure tappings are situated in the pipe at 1D in front of and 0,5D behind the nozzle (D=pipe inner diameter). The nozzle is either welded to inlet and outlet pipe sections often provided by the customer or inserted into a pipe and fixed by a welding seam or pin.The weldingseamsare mechanically processed in order to meet the surface roughness requirements of the respectivecalculation standard.

Weld-in flow elements are the recommended choice for high pressure and high temperature applicationsbecause they minimize leakage. The single bore tappings are easy to clean and thus suitable for process fluids which may accumulatedirt, become resinous or for plants which are not operating constantly.

Approx. 2% of the dischargecoefficient C, depending on the application.

The pressure loss depends on the diameter ratio β(d/D) and amounts to approx. 30 -80% of the differential pressure.

DN 50 to DN 630 / 2“ to 26“ (if requested other sizes are possible)
