Welding achieves the purpose of bonding in three ways:

1. Fusion welding--heating the workpiece to be engaged so that it can be partially melted to form a molten pool.After cooling and solidification of the molten pool,it can be joined when necessary.
2. Pressure welding-welding process must be applied to the welding parts of pressure,belongs to a variety of metal materials and some metal materials processing.
3. Brazing--the metal material with lower melting point than the base metal is used as filler metal,and the liquid filler metal is used to wet the base metal,fill the joint gap,and the base metal is diffused to realize the link welding parts.It is suitable for welding of various materials,and also for welding of different metals or different materials.

There are many sources of energy in modern welding,including gas flame,arc,laser,electron beam,friction and ultrasonic.In addition to its use in factories,welding can be performed in a variety of environments,such as in the wild,underwater and in space.Welding can be hazardous to the operator anywhere,so proper precautions must be taken when welding is performed.Possible injuries caused by welding to human body include burns,electric shock,visual damage,toxic gas inhalation,excessive ultraviolet radiation and so on.
