SupaWind - Wound Depth Filters
SupaWind cartridge filters are manufactured from a continuous length of high quality yarn wound around a support core. The manufacturing process creates a stable and tapered porous structure providing long life and high reliability. A range of fibre materials are available including polypropylene, glass fibre and cotton.
SupaWind depth filter cartridges are manufactured from high quality yarn wound continuously around a cylindrical support core.
The wind pattern is designed to create tapered spiral passageways and, during manufacture, fibres are combed across these passageways and locked into place by successive layers. The passageways, being tapered, provide finer filtration towards the centre of the cartridge.
The traditional wound construction of the SupaWind provides inherent strength, is not easily punctured and is capable of withstanding severe operating conditions. Solid matter in the liquid is removed by impingement entrapment in this highly efficient filter media, not just on the surface, but also through the entire cartridge.
Our SupaWind elements are manufactured in controlled conditions in a state of the art manufacturing facility. The yarn is spun from high quality staple fibre specifically for filter cartridge manufacture.
- Wide range of fibre types
- Integral support core
- Wide chemical compatibility
- All cartridges continuously wound
- Washed yarn option
- Voile option to prevent fibre migration
Cartridge filtration systems generally operate most effectively and economically on applications having contamination levels less than 0.01% by weight (100ppm). For heavier contamination applications, cartridges are normally only used as the final polishing filters.
Amazon DuoLine bag filters are often used as suitable pre filters; please see our literature.
