xWatch - Model X7050 -Explosion-Proof Camera
The xWatch explosion-proof surveillance camera provides a high-resolution color image, real-time viewing, and pre/post event analysis. The xWatch camera is designed specifically for remote, high-risk, and hard-to-access areas.
Multiple configurations are available:
- A stand-alone camera that performs typical closed-circuit TV (CCTV) functions
- Attached to a Det-Tronics X-Series flame detector through a factory-installed adapter
- Integrated into an existing system for a complete fire and gas safety system
Functional
Users stay out of harm`s way by remotely viewing situations and managing the view.
Flexible
Choose the most effective field of view for a monitored area by selecting from one of three lens options: wide, narrow, or normal. The wide lens emulates a flame detector’s field of view. Narrow enables up-close viewing of a subject, such as a flare or specific area on a piece of equipment. The normal lens is ideal for monitoring general areas.
For added flexibility, hazard detection and recording via a DVR can be integrated into a complete safety system.
Reliable
The camera’s explosion-proof rating enables reliable performance in hazardous locations. Ratings include, but are not limited to NEMA 4x as well as Class I, Div. 1, Groups B, C, and D.
The xWatch Surveillance Camera produces a high resolution color video picture using a camera module that is mounted inside an explosion-proof NEMA 4X rated housing. The device`s explosion-proof rating makes it suitable for Class I, Div. 1, Groups B, C and D locations. xWatch can be used alone or in combination with fire and gas detectors in any application that requires CCTV surveillance capabilities.
The xWatch can be used in any of three configurations:
- xWatch can be used as a stand alone device to perform typical CCTV functions.
- An xWatch camera module can be retrofitted in place of the UV tube module in an existing C7050 Flame Detector to provide basic visual information.
- xWatch can be ordered from the factory as a combined unit with any X-Series flame detector. With this arrangement, the camera views the same protected area as the detector.
In the event of a fire or gas alarm, the operator can immediately view the monitored area to determine whether personnel are present and safe. An accurate evaluation of the hazard’s size, nature, location and severity can be determined quickly and safely.
The utilization of a digital video recorder (DVR) captures the video image of an incident which can be analyzed for what happened before, during, and after the event.

xWatch Camera with X-Series Flame Detector
- Immediate secondary visual hazard verification
- Option for the view to be triggered by the flame detector alarm
Integration into Fire and Gas System
- Full surveillance solution
- Suitable solution for either an existing system or a new system
Efficient Connections
The xWatch camera uses a twisted-pair video output connection rather than the typical coaxial cable, permitting the use of existing wiring.
The explosion-proof camera can be used with any video switcher or server for a live video feed.
Settings for viewing, playback, and/or surveillance control are set via software provided with the DVR.
Ideal for remote locations and unmanned facilities, free software allows you to control the DVR over an inter/intranet connection.
