Zero Liquid Discharge System for apartments in Bangalore

The RWAs can only use about half of the treated water for flushing and gardening if the sewer treatment plants are fully functional and compliant. The city of Bangalore is home to the highest number of apartment-scale sewer treatment plants (STPs). In other words, if all of them were functioning properly, sewage woes in the city would be minimized considerably. Unfortunately, this is not the case. There may be over half of the “operational” STPs that aren’t adhering to standards. The picture on the left is from an apartment where the builder had installed an electromechanical STP with insufficient capacity that didn’t provide the required quality of water treatment. The untreated sewage had to be drained into adjacent vacant land. Retrofitting the rejuWATER sewer treatment plant fixed the problem of zero liquid discharge.
