ZGT - Model NM500 -Abrasion Resistant Steel Plate
NM500 steel is a high strength wear resistant steel plate designed to provide excellent mechanical properties and superior wear resistance. It is often used in industries that require high impact and wear resistance, such as mining, construction and industrial machinery, and is more cost-effective than bulletproof steel AR500.
NM500 steel is equivalent to other wear-resistant steels such as Hardox 500 produced by SSAB of Sweden, EH500 from Japan, and AR500 from the United States, all of which have similar mechanical properties and are used in similar applications.
The hardness of NM500 steel typically ranges from 470 to 530 HBW.
High Wear Resistance: NM500 steel offers superior wear resistance, making it ideal for applications that involve heavy abrasion.
High Strength: It has a high tensile strength, contributing to its durability and ability to withstand mechanical stress.
Good Toughness: Despite its hardness, NM500 maintains good toughness, allowing it to absorb impacts without cracking.
Good Weldability and Machinability: NM500 can be welded and machined using appropriate techniques, although preheating and post-weld heat treatment may be required to prevent cracking.
NM500 steel plate has a broad range of applications, primarily in the fields of mining machinery, construction machinery, and port machinery. Its three most common application areas are as follows:
1.Quarry and Construction Machinery:
Examples: Gravel and stone conveying equipment (such as routes, chutes, hoppers), crushing equipment, shovels, excavators, forklifts, trailers, bulldozers, dump trucks, dredgers, crushers, grinders, screens, hoppers, mixers, and concrete aggregate molds.
2.Mining Machinery:
Examples: Fans, dischargers, spiral chutes, crushers, grinders, screens, and conveyors.
3.Cement and Refractory Material Plants:
Examples: Crushers, chutes, and cyclone separators.
In these applications, NM500 wear-resistant plates serve as wear-resistant components. They can withstand harsh working environments and heavy loads, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the equipment. Due to its high cost-performance ratio, NM500 is often used as an alternative to Hardox 450 wear plates.
