Antimicrobial Efficacy Testing Services
Our firm has extensive experience in designing novel protocols for testing experimental devices for the presence of a variety of pathogens. We utilize ASTM, AOAC, and AATCC standards and protocols for evaluating antimicrobial efficacy of novel coatings and disinfectants.
Our Laboratory is NELAC/TNI accredited and operates under ISO 17025 standards for the detection of viral, parasitic, bacterial pathogens in raw, finished, and reclaimed water and solids. As a result, BCS offers a wide range of services and conducts studies that involve pathogen detection and enumeration, pathogen reduction and control, device testing, disinfection efficacy testing (ASTM E 1053-97, ASTM E2111-00, and AOAC 961.02), disinfection validation studies, antimicrobial testing, sanitizer validation studies, antiviral efficacy, process challenge, and microbiological consulting. BCS conducts disinfectant development and validation studies at the clients requests. We focus our testing on the inactivation of pathogens in environmental liquid and solid samples and inanimate surfaces. Mainly, we test for the inactivation and survival of enteric (fecally shed) and respiratory microorganisms. These include: Helminth ova (ascaris), parasites (Cryptosporidium and Giardia), enteroviruses, rotaviruses, adenoviruses, Influenza A H1N1, noroviruses, parvoviruses and many, many others.
