The Ontario Royal Commission on Matters of Health and Safety has concluded that occupational exposure to asbestos fibers is highly correlated to diseases of the lungs and the respiratory system in humans. Furthermore, asbestos containing materials (ACM) can be widespread, as asbestos is present in over 3000 consumer products, many of which are used in building materials such as floor tile, ceiling materials and pipe insulation.
