Biological Surveys Services
Ecological surveys traditionally include benthic grab and trawl sampling with analysis by latest multi-variate statistical techniques; while epifaunal communities are assessed by diver survey or underwater video photography.Titan have a wealth of experience in collecting data for Offshore Wind Farms in the UK and have successfully identified sensitive habitats such as Sabellaria spinulosa reefs.
A typical benthic survey could include the following stages;
- Data Review - Interpretation of existing data including geophysical survey
- Data interpretation - Determine a survey plan to represent the existing expected habitats and allow for scientific repeatability and analysis for future surveys
- Benthic survey - Using day grab, mini-hamon, drop camera, beam trawl and intertidal corer
- Sample processing and analysis - Typically sediment condition, flora and fauna distribution (multivariate analysis)
