RJ McLeod (Contractors) Ltd operate over a broad spectrum of construction disciplines with resources spread across Scotland, including the Western and Northern Isles. Our turnover for the year ending 2011 was £65.78M. Our sizeable in-house resources include plant and transport valued in excess of £12M, around 400 staff (including over 200 operatives) and our own Quality, Safety, Environmental and Training (QSET) Department.

The Company is a member of the Civil Engineering Contractors’ Association (Scotland). The Company and its Staff takes on board CECA’s Health and Safety and Training strategies. RJ McLeod’s Joint Managing Director BG Clark BSc CEng FICE FCIHT is a Director of CECA.

Other memberships include the Scottish Construction Safety Group, Grampian Occupational Safety and Health Group, the Scottish Plant Owners’ Association, the Scottish Renewables Forum and the Highland Renewable Energy Group.

We are members of Constructionline and the NEC Users Group and are accredited to the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) and Achilles schemes Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB) and UVDB Verify.

Effective Management

We are committed to the effective management of Quality, Safety, Environmental and Training matters and employ several full-time professionals responsible to the Board of Directors for these disciplines. We are accredited by the British Standards Institute as operating a Quality Management System complying with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2008, an Environmental Management System complying with the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 and a Health & Safety System complying with the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007.

Investing in Training

RJ McLeod place great emphasis on the continual development of all our employees. As such, the Company provides a structured approach to training in order to equip employees with the skills and knowledge they require. Undertaken both in-house and using external agencies, training covers basic job skills, health and safety, personal development and continuing professional development to assist already qualified staff in achieving professional recognition.

Satisfying Customers

Increasingly we are sharing with customers and suppliers the benefits of alternative forms of procurement including design and build and partnership agreements and are aligning ourselves more often with specialist consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to provide an even greater degree of continuity to our customers. Our aim is to deliver a flexible and professional approach to providing construction solutions for all our customers, regardless of project size or location.
