CADD And 3D Modeling
Computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) is the use of computer technology for the process of design and design-documentation. CADD produces drawings and conveys information, such as materials, processes, dimensions, and tolerances, according to application-specific conventions. Barr’s engineers and designers use CADD to create conceptual as well as detailed designs and drawings that may include structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, material-handling and electrical systems and components in addition to general arrangements and plant layouts.
3D MODELING/BIM
3D modeling is used extensively among engineers, scientists, and designers at Barr across various disciplines to enhance our capabilities and continue our commitment to provide exceptional services to our clients. Based on the needs and requirements of projects, different tools and software are used for modeling, design, detailing, and visualization purposes.
Besides its effectiveness as an advanced modeling and finite element analysis tool, building information modeling (BIM) software can also be used to integrate design, analysis, modeling, and drafting into a single platform that allows multiple disciplines to collaborate and generate better designs and final deliverables. The use of BIM enables us to generate computable information to be shared along the lifetime of the project from design to facility management among all of the stake holders. It also enables us to evaluate design alternatives, identify design conflicts before construction, and reduce errors and waste over the life of the project.
Our service specialties include:
- engineering drawings
- engineering analysis
- 3D modeling
- visualizations and rendering
- building information modeling
- clash detection and constructability analysis
