With implementation of EU directive 66/2006, used batteries and accumulators must be separated from general waste stream. Active collection of used portable batteries is mandatory. Furthermore, producers or importers of industrial batteries are obliged to take back their batteries free of charge if end-user wants to get rid of. Thus, implementation of intelligent and cost efficient collection programmes are necessary. These programmes enables the recycling of valuable materials contained in batteries in the next step.
Today Accurec operates a nationwide network of collection points for portable batteries on behalf and in addition to compliance schemes. We cover hundreds of collection points, provide collection bins, and organize exchange logistics including its entire documentation before we finally sort, classify and recycle those batteries.
Since 10 years we arrange a comprehensive service for producers/importers concerning their take back obligation for industrial batteries in Germany. To fulfil these responsibilities against his customer, the producer only passes the collection point coordinates to Accurec. We take over all further, subsequent logistic and recycling task. This includes remote instructions, or if needed on-site support in terms of disassembly, packaging and control of transportation requirements (ADR). Formalities, e.g. waste shipment certificates, licenses, SDS or dangerous goods driver instructions are provided. Finally we aggregate and submit all necessary information and statistics for the preparation of producers compulsory annual waste report.
