MONITOR RECYCLING - Because CRT monitors are a Cathode Ray Tube Appliance they are now classed as hazardous waste and must be disposed of in accordance with the WEEE (waste electronic and electrical equipment) directive. It is no longer legal to skip or landfill this type of waste. As a result of this legislation companies wishing to dispose of monitors must ensure that they are taken away for recycling by a company that is licensed by the Environment Agency to collect, transport and recycle monitors in a safe and responsible way.
LEGISLATION - SITR hold all the necessary licences and permits required to take away your monitors for disposal and will always recycle as many parts as possible, in order to help the environment. We will also issue a signed Certificate of Destruction with each collection as your proof of compliance and for your peace of mind that you have acted in accordance with the current law.
