Contaminated Soil and Sediment Remediation Services
From Construction
Loureiro was retained to perform the remediation of wetlands/watercourses that had been impacted with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, and various other organic compounds. The work included dredging activities within approximately three acres of brook, pond, and swamp, the installation of a geosynthetic and earthen cap within the brook and pond, the construction of a geocomposite cap along the banks of the brook and pond, and the reconstruction of several hundred feet of a 4-lane road. The project was completed in two phases and ultimately resulted in the excavation and offsite disposal of nearly 90,000 tons of PCB-impacted materials.
