- Material barges carry dredged material loaded into them by bucket or cutter suction dredges. GLDD has nineteen such barges ranging from 1,540 to 7,100 yd³ (1,180 to 5,430 m³)
- Drillboats, which fragment rock with explosives prior to removal by bucket or cutter suction dredge. The company has two state of the art drillboats.
- Booster pumps, of which the company has seven, provide auxiliary power to extend the distance the company`s fleet of cutter suction dredges and trailing suction hopper dredges can pump dredged material. They range in power from 3,600 to 14,400 hp (2,685 to 10,830 kW).
- Spider barges, which are used to load barges with material being pumped by a cutter suction dredge. There are currently three spider barges in the Great Lakes fleet.
- Hydraulic Unloaders are used to rehandle material from a hopper barge to an upland disposal site. GLDD currently has one of these units.
