The effluent from anaerobic reactor shall then enter into Extended Aeration Tank. In EAT microorganisms degrade soluble organics aerobically. In order to ensure required population of bacteria in EAT, a requisite mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) is maintained. To maintain requisite MLSS and food to microorganism’s ratio (F/M), part of the settled sludge from secondary clarifier will be recirculated back to the extended aeration tank.
