Disaster Planning Services
Our staff supports the efforts of various municipalities in their Disaster Preparedness Programs and Project Impact initiatives. They work in selecting, evaluating, permitting and designing Temporary Debris Storage and Reduction Sites (TDSRSs), developing contracts for TDSRS operations and hazardous material management. Our staff has developed Disaster Preparedness Programs for the City of Virginia Beach, City of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cape Coral, Florida, and Kauai and Honolulu, Hawaii.
They prepare contracts for debris management, damage assessment, public information and traffic sign and signal restoration. They also prepare a damage assessment manual and assisted in the damage assessment training for area engineers as part of their annual certification. They also prepared the first survey on hurricane debris management ever distributed in the country specifically designed to solicit information from municipalities regarding disaster debris management. Our staff has also published several articles concerning municipalities, specifically regarding disaster preparedness.
