The vegetation group has a broad range of expertise in the biological sciences, including, ecophysiology, conservation biology, biometrics, and mathematical modelling of plant populations. They have experience working in arctic and sub-arctic tundra biomes, boreal and temperate deciduous forests, coastal and interior wetlands, and tropical-subtropical biomes around the world. Rescan encourages the active participation of local community experts in field studies, as well as in research and monitoring projects. Rescan strives to facilitate the integration of knowledge transfer in all its projects.
