Electronics Recycling -eRecycling
At GES we believe in the highest use principle. Our first goal is always to re-use a whole unit as long as our customers allow us. If that is not feasible, due to the condition or age of the equipment, we then look to reuse parts from that unit. As a last resort, we break down each and every item and return the original parts back to the manufacturing stream via our BAN e-Stewards approved downstream diligence.

GES Customer, the Lexington-Fayette County Urban County Government (LFUCG) is one good example of an organization that takes advantage of GES`s high level of industry certifications in electronics recycling. LFUCG was looking for an electronics recycler that was R2, e-Steward, as well as held ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 18001 (Health and Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environment) certifications. GES fits that bill for the LFUCG and provides electronics recycling for all the residential electronics waste that LFUCG receives. Now, all electronics waste that is brought to the LFUCG collection site is responsibly recycled, saving our environment from the hazards contained within these products as well as valuable landfill space.
In the last year alone, we processed over one million pounds of electronic waste. That`s over 1,200 tons of steel, copper, and plastics, thousands of printers and phones and hundreds of shredded hard drives that could fill 20 football fields. We refuse to export our waste to ruin the lives of others, who have no choice but to live and work in unacceptable conditions. Cleaning up the planet does not mean moving electronic waste somewhere that it is not seen.
In order to harvest the maximum amount of parts and value from these electronics, we use a process of manual dismantle and salvage. We take pride in knowing that also means creating jobs back into our economy. It is important to GES to know that we provide a means for our employees to sustain their lifestyle, and provide for their families.
In addition, we do not outsource any labor to the prison system because we simply value the security of the information contained on your equipment and only use facilities we can randomly audit. All demanufacturing is done in our fully secured facilities.
