Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Studies
The introduction of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems has changed the way risk is managed by the oil, gas and process industries. Instead of prescriptive legislations and standards, a pro-active approach to HSE risk management based on structured and systematic HSE risk assessments are now in place. The Environmental Impact Assessment Study procedure is primarily an aid to the environmental planning of new development projects or for the expansion of existing development projects. Environmental Study involves not only the study and analysis of the existing baseline environmental conditions, but also evaluation of the significance of the predicted environmental alterations to human society due to further development of the new facilities.
The procedure and guidelines for Environmental Study should be developed in line with the Government policy statements with the following considerations . RiskIn Kuwait the EIA study for any project is required as per the Kuwait governmental regulations Implemented under Law no. 21 of 1995 as amended by law no.16 of 1996 regarding the Environmental Requirements and standards in the state of Kuwait.
NAPESCO´s multi-disciplinary approach to environmental impact assessment studies accomplished with highly competent professionals trained from the broad based institutions in scientific and technical disciplines. Our approach toward Environmental Impact Assessment studies emphasizes the management of the identified risks, hence adding significant value to the organization beyond a report submitted to regulators for approval. NAPESCO has extensive experience in conducting environmental impact assessment studies and consulting projects in Kuwait with various industries.
We expanded our portfolio by completing consultancy projects for KNPC Local Marketing Facilities (LM/28/2003) which includes 120 gas stations and 3 loading terminal in Kuwait and Environmental Impact Assessment study for Industrial expansion facilities.
NAPESCO team of professionals undertake surveys, consultations, gathering information during the surveys to ensure that plan of study can be submitted for approval prior to commencement of the EIA phase which includes the following :
- Pre-application Phase.
- Scoping Phase
- Execution EIA phase.
The EIA draft format report will be submitted to relevant authority as well to public participation( which is becoming a legal requirements for certain EIAs as per International requirements). The final report will be compiled ( including comments/concerns) to the Environmental Public Authority or to the client.
