Environmental Audits Services
All industrial processes will have some effect on the environment, e.g noise audible outside the site boundary, oil leaks to the ground, or emissions to air. There is much legislation in the environmental area and it is not easy for companies to assess whether they are in breach of this legislation. It is therefore helpful to have an independent assessment of what are the significant environmental effects of a site and whether legislation is being breached. An environmental audit will provide this information and make clear recommendations as to the appropriate course of action.
An environmental audit will often identify cost savings, for example, for some organisations we have identified incorrect energy tariffs, poor waste practices and alternative raw materials. For many companies grant air may be available from Enterprise Ireland via the Green Start and Green Plus programmes.
For companies seeking to implement an Environmental Management System, an environmental audit is an essential first step. All other documents, actions and procedures will be based on the Environmental Audit. It is therefore essential that this first step is carried out correctly by experienced staff and the ranking of the effects is done correctly. Again, for many companies grant air may be available from Enterprise Ireland via the Green Start and Green Plusprogrammes.
Environmental Efficiency has a certified Environmental Management System to ISO14001 and thus has first hand experience of the process and upkeep of such systems.
For SMEs, the ISME Environmental Handbook, written by Environmental Efficiency for ISME, provides a practical clear written guide to environmental best practice.
