Stablex is defined, first and foremost, by the dedication and professionalism of our more than 150 highly qualified employees who are committed to putting science to work for our customers, our community and the environment.Since its establishment in 1983, Stablex has maintained its position as a technological world leader in the hazardous waste management industry. We are committed to research and development, and to continuous improvement programs.
In April 1997, Stablex was the first hazardous waste treatment and disposal facility in North America to be awarded ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications for its Quality Assurance Program and its Environmental Management System. For Stablex, these accreditations are a source of pride; they demonstrate our commitment to quality control and to meeting the expectations of our customers, suppliers and the community.

CONTROLS
We have implemented a set of controls at every stage of our operations to ensure operational compliance. The primary controls are:
- Characterization of waste by laboratory analysis before its acceptance
- Laboratory analysis to determine which treatment protocol is required for each waste
- Verification of shipping documents
- Verification of containers and transport vehicles
- Second characterization of the waste at the time of its arrival
- Cleanliness of trucks and containers before they leave Stablex
- Effectiveness of treatments at each stage of the Stablex process
- Effective health, safety and industrial hygiene
- Regulatory compliance
- Environmental monitoring
- Water safety and quality standards
- Control over testing equipment and laboratory instrumentation
